Activities

Ongoing through the year the First Presbyterian Church of Hanover has a complete and exciting Sunday School program for children of all ages.  Every morning at 10:45 our children enjoy a special children’s sermon before continuing to the parish house for instruction. In addition, our Sunday School members participate in regular services as bell ringers, ushers, and readers. Plans are in the works for a children’s choir. Every year our children delight us with a Christmas play and have special activities for Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day, and Teddy Bear Sunday.

Our Worship and Music Committee is inviting anyone in the community who is looking to join a warm and friendly Choir. We would love to grow our choir, and are also seeking inquiries from Choir Directors. Contact us anytime.

On Thursday mornings at 11:00, we have a Bible Study program in the Parish House.

Annual Events

The First Church Fair is famous throughout the area.  In the past, we have provided rides for the younger and older children, games of chance, freshly made grilled items and crafts.

2005 Church Fair

We have hosted very successful tag sales featuring kitchenware, toys, books, games, clothing, jewelry, small appliances, decorative and seasonal items.

The First Church of Hanover actively supports and participates in the East Hanover Race for the Cure, raising funds for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  We collect new teddy bears for the Joined in Remembrance Foundation, and participate in the “Souper Bowl” Sunday, donating to local charities.
